So, what’s this all about then?
It’s a question that’s probably been on, ooh, dozens of lips today after seeing our newly created Twitter feed and this blog, so here’s a few bits and bobs to tide you over while we start moving the furniture in.
The Dirty South Twit is nothing to do with unwashed imbeciles (although you may beg to differ), but is a Twitter meet up (or Tweet up) in South London. Simple enough, really
It’s inspired, partly, by Lewis Webb’s excellent Shoreditch Twits, which have been going for a few months now and always attract a good crowd, all brought together through their love of Twitter. And alcohol.
There’s always a fair few of us Sarf Londoners at the Shoreditch Twit and, while we love Shoreditch, there’s no place like closer to home, hence why we thought we’d set up a South London based Tweet up. It’s the Dirty South Twit because of a love of whiskey, and also because some of you lot (yes, you. You know who you are
) worry about going south of the river before midnight, let alone after the clock strikes twelve – hopefully you’ll come to love the area as much as we do.
You don’t have to live or work in South London to come – it’s just where it’s being held. We’ll happily welcome those from North, South, East or West – in or out of the capital.
The first Dirty South Tweet is in the process of being put together, but it should be at some point in early December nearish Clapham Junction. We’ll keep you updated on here and via Twitter.
In the meantime, kick back and make yourselves at home as we get to work on snazzing up this place a bit.

Can I vote for Clapham Common rather than the Junction? It so much easier to get to from Shoreditch…
Actually bus 35 goes directly from Shoreditch to Clapham Junction – and PS. Robin, last time I check you lived in Brixton, right? (Lolly)
Good work. Looking forward to the Twit (and the short journey home!).
Does anyone know whether I need to apply for a travel Visa if I’m heading there from Shoreditch? Do I need my passport or will a driving licence suffice?
There’s unconfirmed reports of border guards, but we think we can give them the slip, possibly in the style of Smokey and the Bandit
Either that or just act like you’re from Dahn Sarff and you should be fine
I wanna join …. all the way from the west

Robin, Charles – you’re lucky it’s only Clapham. It could’ve been Penge or something…
North, South, East and West – the four corners of London will be covered! yeah!
Oh God, has the anti-Penge stuff started already?
Good thing I live in Anerley, not Penge proper.
Gemma, I would never offend Penge
